1.7 million Apple Watch units sold, says Slice Intelligence

Yesterday we shared a comparison, released by Slice Intelligence, regarding Android Wear sales in 2014 versus what Apple might have sold of its wearable on the first day of pre-orders alone. But now the same firm has updated its data and says that sales have reached almost two million units.

The company gathers information from over two million online shoppers and uses it to collect data on those who have purchased the device. According to their latest data, 22% of purchases have already been shipped by the company this week.

SI also reports that 33% of Apple Watch buyers have been given a delivery date in April ; 28% will receive it in May, and 1% in June. This means that 38% of buyers in the United States still do not have a delivery date for their device.

The truth is that today we could have an official figure – we hope – from Apple, since the announcement of the revenue and fiscal report for the second quarter of 2015 has been expected for weeks starting at 2:00 PM PT.

Here obviously the rest of the devices will receive the most attention, however the company could at least give us an exact figure for the start of Apple Watch sales on April 10th.
