Access via SSH and view your iPhone & iPod with VNC on Linux
Hello iPhone users! For all of us who make GNU/Linux our preferred operating system, we often encounter problems trying to enjoy the interesting features offered by the iPhone/iPod Touch. So, in this short tutorial, we'll see how to use SSH and the VNC server for Linux. It works for all Linux distributions.
Only at iPhoneate! Where else?
Well, iPhone users, this tutorial is divided into two parts: one dedicated to SSH and another to be able to see the iPhone/iPod Touch in Linux with VNC.
I know the tutorial may seem long and tedious, but please dedicate only 10 minutes to it; it won't take more than that, and you'll avoid confusion and problems.
Requirements :
- Get a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch if you don't know how:
https://iphoneate.com/jailbreak-3-1-2-iphone-ipod-touch-en-mac-windows/ - Have the "open-ssh" application downloaded from Cydia.
- Have the "Veency" application downloaded from Cydia.

- We are going to use the program "FileZilla", it is a remote FTP client.
- So we go to Applications and then to Software Center, to get packages from the Linux sources.

- Now we're going to go to the search engine and type "FileZilla" and download it.

- Once downloaded, we run it (Applications/Internet/FileZilla).
- On the server, it will be our iPhone/iPod touch IP address (settings/wifi)
- Username "root".
- The password is already the default one "alpine" or if you changed it, it will be the new one you assigned.
- Puerto will be "22"

- For the program to work correctly and not display errors about not having permission to download files from the iPhone/iPod Touch, on the left side of the FileZilla program we must mount a location within our "home" and "user" files. Here is an example of a desktop: /home/"your username"/Desktop.
- Now, the files within the iPhone/iPod Touch will be displayed both as a character tree and as a file location on the right side.
- To copy a file, simply right-click and select the "Download" option, and the file will automatically be copied to your desktop in this case.
- To upload a file we do the same but we select the file from our PC and give the "Upload" option.

- Here's an image to help guide you.

Here begins the second part of the tutorial where we will see how to view the iPhone/iPod Touch in Linux. Please read the entire post to avoid doubts and confusion.
READING COSTS YOU NOTHING
- Let's begin, we're going to do the same thing we did with FileZilla.
- Go to the Download Center and search for "Gtk VNC Viewer".

- Once downloaded, we run it and enter our IP address as shown in the image.

- Just fill in the "Server (:port):" field
- That would be the IP address of our device, and that's it.

Alright iPhone enthusiasts, that's all...
