Speed up Cydia to make it run much faster on your iPhone

Hello iPhone users, following up on some tips we gave a while ago to speed up Cydia and avoid all the loading time when performing a search and entering the application.

There are two things that make Cydia really slow: the huge number of themes and ringtones it loads, and the advertising. If you're not interested in 99% of the themes published daily on Cydia, a good option is to remove them, and you'll gain a lot more speed.

  1. We open Cydia and go to “SECTIONS” which is at the very bottom.
  2. We click on EDIT and remove/disable all sites where Ringtones or Themes appear.

We remove the ZodTTD/MacCity source by accessing the iPhone's files, navigating to the path /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, and deleting it. You can use iPhoneBrowser, iFunBox, DiskAid, etc.

To all this we can also add NoCyFresh to avoid loading all the repositories every time we enter Cydia https://iphoneate.com/nocyfresh-i4-2-0-4-1/

NOTE THAT IF YOU REMOVE ALL CYDIA SOURCES FROM THE APPLICATION WHEN YOU START IT, YOU WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF UPDATES OR NEW APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE. IN ANY CASE, YOU CAN MANUALLY REFRESH WHENEVER YOU WANT BY GOING TO CHANGES AND THEN CLICKING ON REFRESH.
