Upgrade to iOS 8 without registering the UDID of your iPhone or iPad
This is definitely what we've all been waiting for: updating to iOS 8 Beta without registering your iPhone or iPad's UDID to a developer account.
Tested on three iPhone 5S devices that are not registered to the Dev Center.
Warning:
- Do not update if you still want to keep your jailbreak. (that is, if you have firmware less than 7.1) You can jailbreak)
- Do not update if you need a hacktivation
- Do not do this if you want a stable iDevice that works with all applications.
- It's very likely that Apple will block this security hole in future betas, just like they did with iOS 7.
It appears the security hole has been patched. Can anyone confirm the downgrade to iOS 7?
To perform this update, you need to download the iOS 8 ipsw file and from iTunes press the "Option" key (for Windows, Shift) and then click the Update button , select the iOS 8 ipsw file from the finder and then install it.
Notes:
- USE the Update button, not the Restore button
- Make sure your iDevice is turned on.
- It is recommended to turn off Find My iPhone.
1) Download the firmware:

2) Open iTunes and connect your iDevice, then click while holding down the "Option" key (Shift on Windows).
3) Select the IOS8 ipsw downloaded in step 1
4) Click install!
5) Wait, and your iPhone will be updated!
