Apple has just filed a patent application for its innovative Touch ID technology

 

Apple has filed a massive patent with WIPO , which basically details how the new Touch ID can be used as a touchpad controller for different handheld devices.

This report details the technical workings of Apple 's new fingerprint sensor system , specifying how the GUI method and interface are used to manipulate user interfaces, which are essentially the fingerprint sensor . Furthermore, the patent describes how the movement of a finger over the fingerprint sensor could later be used for various new actions.
