Apple silently updates OS X Mavericks Gold Master to new version

 

This weekend, shortly after we reported the release of a developer preview of OS X Mavericks Gold Master , Apple has apparently released a new version of the most anticipated operating system in recent months.

The recent OS X Mavericks Gold Master (GM) caused quite a stir this weekend. There's even talk that the full version will be available tomorrow at the event Apple is planning to launch.

However, and everything leads us to believe, a new version of OS X Mavericks GM was worked on with great prudence and caution . This fact originated from verifying that the

The given build number was 13A598 , but shortly afterwards this was changed to a new version , currently – 13A603.

This would seem to raise a red flag. However, upon checking the update, we discovered that it's nearly impossible to install through " Software Update " or the Mac Developer Center . Furthermore, we found no significant changes, only bug fixes, which were added to version 13A603.

In fact, the only way to get this new version is by installing OS X Mavericks GM for the first time, as it is almost impossible to upgrade from the previous version.

Finally, in my personal opinion, we're still not entirely clear on why Apple would silently update its version number without any apparent improvements, aside from minor bug fixes. However, we, like all of you, will be waiting for the full version of OS X Mavericks GM , which could very well be released tomorrow at their highly anticipated event.
