Apple to court in the Netherlands to ban Samsung Galaxy devices

Apple has already attempted to ban Galaxy S10.1 devices in most of Europe ( high court order ), but today they are taking their legal actions even further, asking a Dutch court to ban all devices in the Galaxy series. The ban includes the very popular Galaxy S II, which has been a huge success in Europe.

A complaint from Apple, seen by Webwereld, a Dutch publication of IDG, seeks to secure an order for the entire Galaxy series. This includes smartphones – the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy S, and Galaxy S II – and tablets: the Galaxy Tab 7 and Galaxy Tab 10.1. Other Galaxy devices, such as the Gio, Nexus, 551, Europa, Apollo, and Mini, are also involved, though only in a note where Apple states, "These devices are also expected to be covered by one or more of the rights invoked patent."

In addition to trying to ban the sale, Apple is attempting to push Samsung's idea forward by sending a letter to all its partner distributors within 14 days to cease sales. It stated firmly:

For the record, we would like to mention the fact that by storing, offering and/or selling the aforementioned Galaxy smartphones [and tablets], you are infringing the intellectual property rights of Apple Inc.

The trial will take place in the 15th Court of The Hague, Netherlands, in September, and the judge said that if he grants all the court orders, they would come into effect no earlier than October 13, Webwereled reported (via Computerworld).
