Apple is looking for about 500 employees for its Mesa facility.

After announcing the construction of a global command center at their Mesa , Arizona plant, where they planned to produce sapphire, the company has now confirmed its intention to continue the project at the same location and is seeking 500 additional employees . According to The Phoenix Business News , the company will need more staff than initially planned, and its initial $2 billion investment in the plant has also increased considerably.

So far, Apple has only used half of the command center space, and there has been no mention of how they will utilize the other half of the property, although it wouldn't be surprising if the company soon begins to expand and build on the other half.

Recently, at a meeting between some Apple executives and the mayor of Cupertino , the company announced plans to relocate office staff to Arizona to free up other high-level positions for new local hires. This would offset the loss of 700 jobs resulting from the failed sapphire production by GT Advanced Technologies.

Similarly, Apple recently announced another major expansion in Ireland, where they will reportedly invest an additional $900 million and need 300 more employees . The same has happened previously in Israel , where they have relocated executive staff to that country.

For now, things are starting to take shape, although the construction of the supposed " command center " will not begin until next year.
