Apple confirms the departure of its star designer Greg Christie

According to Apple reports , Engineer and Vice President Greg Christie is about to leave the company, after many years of service and being a fundamental part of the creation of Apple's first iPhone.

This unfortunate event is said to have originated from a strong confrontation he had with the Executive Vice President of Design, Jonathan Ive.

As we recall, in 2012, Jonathan Ive became Vice President of Design following Scott Forstall 's imminent departure . Meanwhile, Christie had always been involved in leading and directing much of the company's software design. And in both cases, as we can see, both areas have always been involved in the design development of certain Apple products.

This would have led to Christie and Ive interacting directly during many meetings and design projects within the company.

However, all this cordiality and good treatment between the two vice presidents was reportedly affected after a heated argument between them. It is said that Christie's team was responsible for redesigning iOS 7. This work apparently led to several disagreements and differences with Ive, ultimately resulting in Christie's leadership being dismissed regarding the direction of the new operating system.

This incident reportedly led to a verbal confrontation between them regarding the design direction of iOS 7. This resulted in Christie resigning from his position and, consequently, leaving the company where he had worked for over 17 years. It remains unclear what the company plans to do after Christie's departure , or when he will officially leave the company.

What is clear is that after Greg Christie 's departure , Ive will take complete control over software design , and possibly the integration of Apple's software and hardware to further improve it.

On the other hand, following this major controversy, Apple didn't hesitate to issue a statement to the Financial Times, commenting that: "Greg Christie has been planning to retire at the end of this year." Let's hope things become clearer and we have more news on the matter soon.
