Apple is tracking your every move through the iPhone & iPad 3G

Today in Where 2.0 Pete Warden presented something hard to believe but true: he discovered that the iPhone and iPad 3G are tracking your movements and storing data in an unencrypted and unprotected file with every device you sync your gadget with.

The file is called consolidated.dbThis file contains latitude and longitude coordinates with date and time; the coordinates are never exactly the same but they contain very detailed information.

Although storing user coordinates via phones is not something new This is usually behind a firewall and requires a court order So that access can be gained, we really have no idea why Apple is doing this but it is intentional and is violating our privacy.
