Apple demands Samsung pay $2.200 billion

Apple continues its ongoing legal battle against Samsung, a conflict that has repeatedly landed both companies in court.

And this major dispute, on this occasion, would be no exception. According to developments regarding Apple's patents —patents that, it should be noted, have been infringed by Samsung on several occasions— it appears to be nearing its end, given that Apple has just filed a claim for US$2.200 billion in damages for the infringement of five of its patents.

Irregularities that occurred, during a period of rapid expansion within the smartphone market, surrounding their products already launched from August 2011, until the end of 2013.

On the other hand, and despite the demands presented by Apple , Samsung 's lawyers have described that economic proposal as "Exaggerated and Intolerable," since it greatly overestimates the value of the lawsuit filed for patent infringement.

It's worth remembering that Samsung also filed a similar complaint at one point, claiming that Apple had infringed on its software patents by using them in its devices. In that lawsuit, Samsung sought $7 million in damages for the patents they claimed belonged to them.
