Apple has once again lost an iPhone 5 prototype in a bar

History repeats itself. Incredibly, Apple has lost an iPhone 5 prototype in a San Francisco bar. Specifically, at Cava 22 in the Mission District. Upon learning of the loss, Apple immediately requested police assistance, stating that the lost device was "priceless," though they declined to provide further details.

Using its GPS, Apple located the prototype in a city neighborhood, and the police have even taken a statement from a resident, who said he knows absolutely nothing. So far, city officials haven't received any reports. Right now, I wouldn't want to be the person who lost that phone.

We all remember what happened last year, right? Gizmodo got hold of a lost iPhone 4 prototype that had gone missing in a similar way, and after it was proven to be the real iPhone model, the case went to court. The case ended a few weeks ago, with Gizmodo being acquitted. The guilty parties, according to the verdict, were those who obtained the prototype at that bar.

It's still too early to know how this latest case will end, but the prototype remains lost, and I'm sure that as I write this, Apple is deploying all its resources to recover it. We'll continue to follow this story closely.
