Apple will integrate iBeacon location technology to improve its service

 

This time, Apple is reportedly considering integrating a new feature into its stores : the iBeacon system.

iBeacon is a location-based technology, a new proposal for low-power, low-cost transmitters that could easily connect wirelessly to an iPhone and inform it of the location of items available in stores.

And from what we know, Apple has begun stockpiling iBeacon transmitters , and the company will begin installing these sensors in its stores across the United States in the coming days . These transmitters will be placed in the modules where Apple products are displayed , and this technology is expected to improve both the Apple shopping experience and boost sales.

If this is the case and the established goals are met, the technology would be implemented in the next Apple App Store update . This would allow the service to send a notification to your iPhone with pricing and feature information whenever a new product or application is added to the store for purchase and download.

On the other hand, a select number of Apple App Store products will begin testing the service 's functionality in the coming weeks. Because the technology relies on the latest version of Apple's software and hardware, users will need to have iOS 7 installed on all their devices and also support Bluetooth 4.0 to run the new system. Users can also choose not to receive these alerts.
