Apple tries to end jailbreaking again

Hello iPhone users, it seems Apple wants to put an end to jailbreaking by any means necessary. Even though jailbreaking has been declared legal by the Copyright Office in the U.S.

First, I have to say to Apple: Please stop your war on jailbreaking. NBC reports that Apple has asked the federal government for help in cracking down on hackers and preventing iPhone jailbreaking.

Apple told the U.S. Copyright Office:

"Current technologies such as jailbreaking, now in widespread use, and unauthorized modifications to copyrighted bootloaders and operating systems, result in copyright infringement of software."

This request came just after Sony filed a lawsuit against the Geohot fail0verflow team, who are currently in a dispute over the firmware released to jailbreak the PS3. GeoHot seems to have luck on its side, as the lawsuit has not proceeded and has been denied in its first stage due to a jurisdictional issue.

This action by Apple came as the Library of Congress considers jailbreaking the iPhone (a tool to install applications not approved by Apple) to be completely legal.
