Apple participates in comScore's Marketing Ranking

 

According to a report published by comScore , Apple's market share in the US smartphone industry in September 2013 can be observed.

comScore is a marketing agency that regularly surveys over 30.000 mobile subscribers in the US to gather valuable marketing and service insights for many large companies. For this reason, the market research firm planned to conduct this survey of approximately 145 million Americans who own a smartphone (and who also represent a 60,8% penetration rate in the mobile market). The research was carried out between May and August 2013.

This report shows that, through its various statistical charts, Apple was ranked as one of the best smartphone manufacturers on the market with 40,6%. Samsung followed with 24.3%, and HTC with 7.4%. All of this information is detailed in the charts we will share below.

147.900.000 people in the United States who owned a smartphone participated in this study.

Apple holds the top spot with 40.6% of US smartphone subscribers (up 0,7 percentage points as of June). Samsung came in second with 24,9% of the market (up 1,2 percentage points), followed by HTC with 7,1%, Motorola with 6,8%, and LG with 6,6%.

In this chart, we can see how users ranked Android as the best smartphone platform on the market with 51,8%. This was followed by Apple with 40,6%, BlackBerry with 3,8%, Microsoft with 3,3%, and Symbian with 0,3%. 

Top Smartphone Properties & Apps ( Best Smartphone with Features and Applications )

Google Sites ranks as the most visited website on smartphones with 90% of its audience on mobile media (mobile browsing and app usage), followed by Facebook with 84%, Yahoo! Sites with 82.2%, Amazon Sites with 65,5%, and Apple occupies a well-deserved 5th place with 50.8%.

On the other hand, Facebook ranked as the most visited smartphone app with 74,3%, followed by Google Play with 53,9%, Google Search with 53,2%, YouTube with 49,6%, and Pandora Radio with 49,3%. These are the five most popular apps on smartphones.
