Apple patents Smart Dock files that can easily activate Siri on the iPhone

The USPTO has just issued a new patent application filed by Apple concerning " Smart Dock ," a device that can activate the voice recognition mode of a mobile device.

This is why Apple describes its portable device, the " Smart Dock ," as easily connecting to an iPhone or iPad and activating Siri through specific keywords. According to the patent description, the " Smart Dock " includes several components, such as a casing, microphone jack, speakers, a touchscreen, and a processor.

Apple's " Smart Dock " will primarily feature voice recognition , allowing users to access the connected device via voice commands. Once activated, the dock forwards all commands to the linked device, which then executes them.

While this function is active, the “Smart Dock” will reduce ambient noise to make voice recognition as perfect as possible.

In other claims, Apple adds that its " Smart Dock " could have additional features, such as a removable hard drive, accelerometer or temperature sensors, GPS, and much more. Furthermore, the patent also states that the dock can communicate wirelessly with devices, functioning as an AirPlay/Bluetooth speaker as well.

Currently, Apple sells a Dock for the iPhone 5S and 5C for $29 each, but they don't have many features, aside from a Lightning connector and an audio output.
