Apple plans to release an iPad 5 and a Mini iPad 2 with an A7X chip before the end of this year.

Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple was planning the Retina iPad Mini 2 for 2014 , but due to increased market competition, they accelerated their release schedule for the device.

Another interesting tidbit from the analyst is a revealing piece of news confirming that the next big thing next year will be the new iPad Minis . It's said that Apple is working on another new iPad Mini model , but that its launch will take place in early 2014.
