Apple could release a 13-inch iPad

According to The Wall Street Journal , Apple is trying to bolster its dominance in tablets with a new iPad model that would increase the size of its screen to 13 inches and is being tested in Cupertino.

 

Perhaps Apple has ruled out for the time being the incorporation of touch panels into MacBooks and wants to position an alternative model to Ultrabooks , whose next generation with Haswell processors must include this technology to be considered as such.

The alternative to touchscreen Ultrabooks would therefore be these iPads with a 13-inch diagonal , a size that in our opinion is perfect for maintaining productivity and mobility.

 

Its native resolution would be equal to or higher than current Retina displays , with the possibility of using Sharp's IGZO technology, which Apple is rumored to have been working on for some time. The type of processor chosen, and even the platform, is unknown, although we don't think Apple will switch from ARM to x86 at this point.

 

A 13-inch iPad with ultra-high resolution, x86 Haswell chips , and an operating system somewhere between iOS and a Mac OS X optimized for touchscreens? What do you think?
