Apple has more cash than the United States government

The computer company Apple has more cash on hand than the U.S. government, which is just hours away from running out of funds to pay its creditors. The Treasury Department reported this week that it has $74 billion, while Apple reported having $76 billion. The U.S. government's cash shortage stems from Congress's inability to reach an agreement on the debt ceiling for the next fiscal year.
August 2nd is the deadline for the United States to approve a new limit, otherwise it will be unable for the first time to pay debts and channel resources to goods and services. Apple, with around $362 billion in funds, is the second largest company in the world by market value, behind Exxon Mobil Corporation which is at $395 billion.
US government spending last year was close to $800 billion, ten times more than Apple's assets.
Because of this power it has, we have heard rumors about what Apple might do in the future.
- Apple could buy a series of islands in the middle of the Pacific and found its own country, where to live you would have to pay an annual subscription.
- Apple could buy HTC, Samsung, and LG together and eliminate all competition to the iPhone in one fell swoop.
- Apple could buy Facebook, in order to finally fix the fail-chat that has been active for a few weeks.
- Apple could lower the price of the iPhone to just one dollar worldwide and thus truly kill all the competition.
- Apple could create its own space exploration program and found a colony on the Moon, or as it might be called, iMoon.
- Apple could buy Android from Google and overnight everyone who said "Android is crap" would be commenting on how amazing it is now.
- Apple could tattoo its logo on thousands of people giving them free advertising, oh wait, people already do that, for free xD
