The launch of the iPhone 5 by Apple will cause Apple's sales to rise again, reaching up to 30 million units in Q4, according to analyst Walter Piecyk.

It was previously estimated that Apple could sell around 21.5 million iPhones in Q4; more recently, Apple reported sales of 20.34 million units in Q3, which is considered a low figure. Piecyk also believes Apple could sell 10 million iPhones in the US alone in Q4.

AT&T, for its part, could sell around 5 million units in the next quarter thanks to the iPhone 5 and the continued $50 price tag of the previous model. Verizon could sell 4 million iPhones in Q4, accounting for 45% of the carrier's sales, even though Verizon is expected to continue its success with 4G LTE on its Android devices, with a total of 9 million units sold by the end of Q4.

Additionally, Sprint could also launch the iPhone 5 and Piecyk estimates sales of 1.5 million units.
