Apple rallies to help victims of Nepal
Another tragedy has struck the news. The earthquake in Nepal is the biggest tragedy we've experienced in the first few months of 2015. The consequences of this devastating earthquake in Nepal reached a magnitude of 7,8 on the Richter scale, although that figure is not yet entirely clear.
The death toll is constantly rising; at this moment, a number close to 4000 people have died, not counting the number of people who are missing and material damage.
Apple also wants to do its part, as users can make donations through the App Store and iTunes . The money raised will go directly to the American Red Cross in Nepal.
Tim Cook announced via his Twitter account that users who access the App Store or iTunes Store can choose a donation amount ranging from $5 to $200. Apple states that 100% of the donated money will go directly to the Red Cross.
Apple It is known for its commitment to providing this type of aid whenever a disaster of this magnitude occurs.
Apple is dedicated to finding missing people, providing supplies to families in need, and saving lives.

In these kinds of situations, the internet and technology can be a great help. The most pressing concern for many of these people is knowing the whereabouts of their loved ones, and that's why, setting aside any rivalries, two major companies have joined forces.
Last year, Facebook created Safety Check, an app that allows users to let their friends and family know they are safe. This Facebook app is proving very useful during these dramatic times.
Google, for its part, is providing all possible help, especially after the company learned that one of its executives, Dan Fredinburg, lost his life in an avalanche while climbing Mount Everest, while collecting images for the Google Adventures app.
Google has activated a people finder protocol, a website where you can request and receive information about the situation of a particular person or loved one.
Besides trying to find as many people safe and sound as possible, a huge amount of money is needed for the victims of the disaster, especially for food and medicine. PayPal, like Apple , has created a campaign where people can donate to various NGOs that are already traveling to Nepal.
As you can see, when a tragedy like this happens, companies put aside their differences to come together and help.
