Brussels demands explanations from Apple over the explosion of an iPhone and an iPod
Hello iPhone users, today I bring you another news item regarding the iPhone and iPod explosions. The European Commission has requested information from Apple to clarify the explosions of an iPhone and an iPod manufactured by this American company in France and the United Kingdom, countries from which Brussels has also requested information about the incidents.
“We have asked the two affected Member States, France and the United Kingdom, to provide us with more information and we are in contact with the manufacturer Apple to obtain more information about the product and what happened,” said Ton Van Lierop, the spokesman for the European Commission.
As you may recall, an 18-year-old French man suffered eye damage after his iPhone exploded in his face in the town of Aix, in the French Provence, while last week British citizen Ken Stanborough threw away his daughter's iPod after noticing that it was very hot and shortly after throwing it away, the device also exploded.
The European Commission spokesperson, who admitted that Apple has not yet submitted its response, stated that information has been requested and they will see what happens. However, Van Lierop clarified that the Commission wants more information to determine whether the problem is related to the device itself or simply to one of the manufactured batches.
