Cobalt, the new multiplayer platform game for Mac, arrives in October
This new game is called Cobalt. The creators of Minecraft, the guys at Mojang, have announced that Cobalt, a title that has been known since 2013, will finally be released in October of this year, available for PC, Xbox One, and yes, it will also be available for Mac.
Cobalt is expected to arrive for Mac in mid-October of this year.
The game's creators (Mojang in collaboration with Oxeye Game Studio) define it as an incredible platform game featuring several very fun game modes that can be enjoyed alone or with others playing on the same platform.
Furthermore, Mojang emphasized the freedom it gives users to modify the game to their liking. Cobalt features a powerful editor to create any game mode you want, and even new maps or terrains for combat. In addition to including action and platforming with a futuristic setting, Cobalt has the unique feature of presenting puzzles based on minigames throughout the adventure.
This announcement was made during Microsoft's Gamescom 2015 conference, where Jens Bergensten from Mojang, the studio behind Minecraft, was present. He took the opportunity to show us a trailer and stated that it promises hours of cooperative fun without requiring an internet connection, thanks to its local multiplayer capability.
Mac users now have access to what Oxeye calls a "very outdated alpha" version of the official Cobalt website, so they can all get an idea and draw their own conclusions about this game, which has many with very high expectations that they hope will be fully met.
