How many times has it happened to you that you want to put your device in DFU But their home button is broken. I imagine some of you have experienced this. However, for users whose button is broken or simply not working for some reason, you'll be happy to know that thanks to the new version of RedSn0w It has an interesting new feature. It allows you to put your iPhone into DFU mode without using the buttons, ideal if you have a broken button.

Requirements:

  • Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad
  • Have the latest version of RedSn0w 0.9.14b2 downloaded

Download

Tutorial:

Step 1) Connect the iDevice and run RedSn0w

Step 2) Click on Extras>Even more and in that window select the “DFU IPSW” option

A window with instructions will then appear.

All you have to do is select a normal IPSW file , signed by Apple , and redsn0w will pretend to update, but it won't (it won't upgrade the baseband or anything like that, don't worry) . At the end of the process, the iPhone will be in DFU mode , so you can then jailbreak it, downgrade the baseband, and install a custom ROM by putting it in PwnedDFU mode.

You will only know that it is in DFU mode because iTunes and Redsn0w itself will recognize it in recovery mode.
