Convert Tethered Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 to Untethered Without Restore.

How do we know the Jailbreak Untethered iOS 5.1.1 I just left a few minutes ago.  Only compatible with iOS 5.1.1 whether in a iPhone 4,iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS,iPod 3G,iPad 1,iPad 2 Wi-Fi,iPad 3 Wi-Fi,iPad 3 GSM. If you had Tethered Jailbreak previously in With iOS 5.1.1, you won't need to restore to enable Untthered. Here's how to do it.  

 

 

MuscleNerd It warns us that if we have a device with Tethered jailbreak users should not use the restore settings option in Settings. 

 

To convert your Tethered Jailbreak to Untethered, simply go to Cydia and search for the tweak called: 

  • Rocky Raccoon 5.1.1 Untethered

 

When installing this Tweak your Jailbreak to become Untetheredand they will no longer have to use RedSn0w to turn it on. 

 

For those with an illegally unlocked iPhone (using Ultrasn0w) who want to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1, just watch this video on how to upgrade from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1. It doesn't matter what iOS version you have; even if you have iOS 4.3.3, you can still perform the same process.  

 

Steps

  1. Download iOS 5.1.1 
  2. Download Redsn0w
  3. Run Redsn0w, then go to Extras>Custom IPSW
  4. Find iOS on your computer
  5. The custom version will be created and saved in the same folder as the original; it will have NO_BB at the beginning of its name.
  6. Now Redsn0w gives Extras>Pwn DFU
  7. They turn off the device
  8. They perform the method to put it in DFU format
  9. They open iTunes, it detects the iPhone in recovery mode, they press Shift+Restore on Windows and Alt+Restore on Mac
  10. The window to search for the iOS opens; they select the custom version they created.
  11. After the restoration is complete, the iPhone will try to turn on, but since it's jailbroken and tethered, it won't turn on.
  12. They open Redns0w again and this time select Jailbreak
  13. Force the device off by pressing Home+Power for 10 seconds
  14. You have about 4 seconds to click Next in Redsn0w and start the jailbreak process
  15. After Redsn0w detects them, they select "Install Cydia" and click Next.
  16. The Jailbreak Process will be performed
  17. Done! You can now configure your device and install Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untethered to jailbreak your iPhone.
