Hello iPhone user, the Dev Team has announced that they will possibly have a new PwageTool for firmware 3.1.2 in a few days.

iPhone user, before continuing with this information, a brief explanation of what a Custom Firmware is:

Custom firmware is created using the original firmware of any iPhone or iPod Touch and PwageTool (a Mac-only application). By combining PwageTool with the firmware, we can prevent the baseband from being upgraded on iPhones (Baseband = if you have baseband 4.26, you can use ultrasn0w; if you update without custom firmware, the baseband won't be upgraded). Creating custom firmware also adds Cydia and Icy, and allows you to increase Cydia's storage capacity. This doesn't apply as much to iPod Touches since they don't use ultrasn0w. To easily remember this, if you have an iPhone and bought it in the USA, for example, and you live in Mexico, it's what we call an "illegal" iPhone. You would then need to use ultrasn0w to use the cellular service. A legal iPhone, on the other hand, is one that you bought in Mexico from a carrier that distributes them legally, and you live in Mexico. Legal iPhone, although if you prefer you can also use ultras0w and use it with any cell phone company.

Okay then, iPhone user, this doesn't apply to iPod Touch, since these are not cell phones.

Custom firmware now works on Windows and Mac. All you have to do is put your iPhone & iPod Touch into DFU mode and press Shift + Restore, and in the window that opens, look for the custom firmware.

The Dev Team just announced a few minutes ago the new release of PwageTool for firmware 3.1.2, without giving an exact date, perhaps in a couple of days. As you iPhone users know, we will provide all the information and custom firmware so you won't have any problems jailbreaking your device smoothly and safely.
