DevTeam announces a new app for the iPhone & iPod Touch
Hello iPhone users, A couple of hours ago, the DevTeam, through two of its members, known as Wizdaz and MediaPhone, announced the upcoming availability of a new application that will be known as SmartScreenThe application will add the ability to have multiple widgets on the lock screen of the iPhone and iPod touch.
According to the DevTeam The new application will be available in November for all users with a jailbreak installed. on their device. And they describe the application as:
Today MediaPhone announced 'SmartScreen', an application for the iPhone and iPod touch that will allow widgets with important information for the user to be placed and used on the lock screen of the device.
Widgets are similar to those offered in Apple's 'dashboard' and offer a similar view and performance.
Widgets can be placed on the lock screen using the 'tap and hold to move' action, which is also used to move apps around on the app screens.
The application will work on all iPhone and iPod touch models that have OS 3.x installed. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the product, it will not be available for sale in the Apple App Store, but it will be available to users with jailbroken phones through alternative means.
A SmartScreen SDK will be available to developers in November 2009, specifically for widget developers; but right now, There are developers being selected to participate in a private beta program.
