How do I fix error 48 in iTunes when trying to restore my iPhone 4s?

They're going to discontinue them, that's why my 64GB 4S broke down with error 48, according to logic, just because I did a hard reset. It didn't work anymore, it just stayed that way and I sold it for parts. Very good OS, but I think those devices have an expiration date. This has happened to me twice now. Goodbye Apple
