How do I fix error 48 in iTunes when trying to restore my iPhone 4s?

It seems there's no solution. Today is September 16, 2015, and iOS 9.0 was just released. I tried restoring my iPhone 4s, but the error (48) keeps appearing… all that's left for us to do is say goodbye to our iPhone 🙁
