The highly anticipated iPhone 5 will be unveiled in a month or two , and many rumors about this new device have surfaced over the past few weeks . While we've discussed release dates, screen sizes, the reduced headphone jack, and other details, there's one element that hasn't yet been mentioned: the battery. That's why today we're bringing you some new leaks regarding the battery that the next generation of iPhones might feature.

 

LTE technology in upcoming smartphones may further increase their energy consumption . The next iPhone, which we previously reported will be unveiled in mid-September, could be one of the first to incorporate LTE globally.

There are rumors of an increased battery size for the new phone. According to 9to5Mac , it will have a capacity of 1440mAh , a new voltage of 3,8V , and a watt-hour rating of 5,45Whr , proportionally increasing the specifications of the battery in the iPhone 4S , which has a capacity of 1430mAh, a voltage of 3,7V , and allows for almost 5 hours of talk time.

The inclusion of a larger battery can be achieved, among other factors, by increasing the screen size, which according to the latest rumors could reach 4 inches, and reducing the connector from 30 pins to 8 or 9 pins , thus freeing up space and allowing for internal component reorganization. All of this while reducing the thickness.
