Apple's new iPhone will not be called iPhone 6
Following the announcement that Apple had concluded an important meeting with officials from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (CNTS) , it was specified that the company was finalizing details regarding the launch of its new devices this year.
A new revelation made by the secretary of the NBTC, Takorn Tantasith, has come to light, after confirming that the Thai government agency has approved the import of the new Apple devices into the Asian country.
The new iPhone will have a different name.
On the other hand, a major controversy reportedly erupted during this recent meeting after the NBTC made public a significant part of the agreement reached between the national office and Apple.
This comes after the release of the report, which details a key part of the approval and import of the new A1586 and A1524 models.
The Secretary General stated: “Everything published on August 8th was done in accordance with NBTC protocol. It specifically reports on the approval of the two phone models; however, it does not disclose the confidential terms and agreements reached by both entities.”
Takorn Tantasith also insisted that everything disclosed is not considered a trade secret. And according to Apple's request, that information would be kept under the strictest confidentiality.
To clarify, the NBTC did not reveal anything regarding the specifications established in said agreement.
Interestingly, and to briefly emphasize this point, we must highlight that one of the requests Apple made to Thai officials was that the next generation of iPhones could not be called "iPhone 6 ," implying that Apple would use a different name for its new devices.
This fact would have caused the minor disagreement between the NBTC and Apple, since one of the requirements that Apple would have made to the national office is that confidential information about its upcoming phones not be disclosed under any circumstances.
Regardless of whether or not the agreement between both parties was broken, it's now clear that Apple's new devices will not be called iPhone 6.
And now: What will Apple name its new iPhones?
