Happy 10th birthday, iPod classic. Now's the time to die!

Hello iPhone users! Today brought the news of the removal of the iPod Click Wheel games from the iTunes Store. Even worse, iPod sales as a whole have declined due to some cannibalization by the iPhone and because everyone has an iPod. More than anything, the iPod Click Wheel is a dinosaur, a relic of the past! Who remembers when Apple launched its first iPod on October 23, 2001? It had a 5GB hard drive that held "a thousand songs in your pocket" and was encased in snow-white.
The fact is, the iPod classic has reached its limit. It can't survive in an iCloud world. It's not even an iOS device. And with that in mind, it's also quite conceivable that the iPod shuffle and iPod nano could fall prey to the iCloud/post-PC world.

Every teenager drooled over its sexy metal, which attracted grease and scratches far too easily—literally, as soon as they picked it up and placed it on a table. Ten years later, the once-revolutionary click wheel iPod is a relic of the past century, and we're not exactly coveting the design anymore. It's normal to feel sad. You probably have fond memories of the iPod classic.
