Google Chrome is now compatible with the Retina displays on the new Macs

As the days pass after the launch of the new MacBook Pro with Retina display, the most popular OS X applications are being updated to adapt to the new Retina display of the next-generation MacBook Pro . This makes Chrome the first browser, along with Safari, optimized for the new Mac screen resolutions, leaving Firefox, Opera, and other browsers with a smaller market share still pending updates.

In addition to this, Chrome 21 brings us compatibility with webcams and microphones without the need for any plug-ins like Flash.

This last feature would be a consequence of a WebRTC standard that aims to avoid any external component to maintain videoconferences.

We hope other companies will follow suit , as Apple intends to implement Retina resolution across all its products. Now we just have to wait for websites to do the same so we can fully enjoy the experience.
