Apple 's smartphone marked a leap forward and a turning point in the mobile phone market. It arrived in the US market on June 29, 2007 , and made a significant impact on a market that until then had been monopolized by the Finnish company Nokia. It was unveiled on January 9, 2007, in a memorable keynote address delivered by the late Steve Jobs.

 

The capacitive screen, the innovative interface with icons that worked so smoothly, the screen -large for the time- and the rest of the features paved the way in the mobile market that today is full of smartphones with similar aesthetics.
