1.- C:Program FilesWindows LiveMessenger
This is where we will look for the messenger sound file named "type.wma"
2. Copy the "type.wma" file to your desktop or wherever you want.
3. Open iTunes and drag the "type.wma" file into iTunes
4.- Next, a window will open asking if we want to convert the file; click on convert.
5. Configure iTunes as follows:
- Open iTunes
- Choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit> Preferences (Windows)
- Click on General at the top of the Preferences window.
- Click on Import Settings
- On the menu Import using, select the option AIFF Encoder instead of MP3 or AAC encoders
- And finally, click on Ok.
6. Next, find the audio file in iTunes.
7. Right-click on the "type" file and select the "Create AIFF Version" option.
8. And that's it, it's converted to "type.aif" ready to be copied to the iPod application
9.- Find where the file we just converted was saved (Right Click, Show in Explorer) to find the created audio file.
10.- We renamed the file "type" to "alert"
11.- Then access the iPod or iPhone using WinSCP to the following path
/private/var/mobile/Applications/
and search within the folders with numbers and letters until you find the folder "IMPlusFull.app"
12. Inside the "IMPlusFull.app" folder, copy the renamed file. A message will appear asking if you want to replace the existing file; say yes. (Before doing this, make a backup copy of the "alert.aif" file located inside WinSCP.)
13.- Close Winscp. Respring and you're done. Open IM+ and when you receive a message it will sound like Messenger.
