iCloud hackers behind bars

A couple of weeks ago, iPhone and Mac users found their devices strangely locked via iCloud . A message appeared on their devices requesting a payment to a PayPal account in order to unlock them.

But to everyone's relief, these hackers who locked the devices have been caught, according to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Russian authorities have reported the arrest of two young hackers , ages 17 and 23, who allegedly hijacked Apple devices (iPhones and Macs) and digitally compromised them. They were detained for "operational activities" by the Russian Interior Ministry, which stated that both reside in Moscow 's South Administrative District and that one of them had previously attempted a hack. Officially, the hackers were apprehended after security cameras captured them withdrawing money from ATMs, money that had been deposited by their victims, exactly as the hackers had instructed.
