iPhones 6 sold out in just 72 hours in India

The iPhone 6 is taking the world by storm thanks to the significant changes Apple has made to its design and hardware. After its huge success in the United States and China , where nearly 5 million units were sold in just a couple of hours , India has now become another major market for the company.

Apple is doing everything possible to exploit the market on the other side of the world, which is one of the biggest opportunities for the company. Likewise, India is the second largest market with its 1.2 million inhabitants and rapid growth in smartphone sales.

55 iPhone 6 units were sold in just 72 hours , and while the volume isn't particularly impressive, what is interesting is the demand in a country that is still developing its market for high-end smartphones. Last year, only 6 iPhone 5s units were shipped to India, and those also sold out quickly.

India is just one of the 36 countries receiving the pair of new iPhone 6 models throughout October, with Apple finishing its distribution on the 31st of the month in Latin America.
