iTunes 11 could be released today

After a delay of just over a month, information that was leaked a few minutes ago suggests that iTunes version 11 could finally be available for download today. The popular media player's release was delayed, supposedly due to programming issues that forced engineers to almost completely rewrite the software. As is often the case with this type of information, Apple has not commented on the matter, nor has it revealed the specific problems that caused the delay.

The imminent release of iTunes 11 comes just days after two top Apple executives were reportedly fired for their mistakes regarding certain aspects of iOS, a product that has kept Apple at the top of the smartphone market. An iOS device is inseparable from its desktop companion, iTunes. That's why the release of this software is so important for Apple and, to some extent, for Eddy Cue, the new head of everything related to iOS.

It's worth remembering that iTunes 11 was supposedly going to be ready for mass release to users during the second or third week of October, but without providing further details, Apple postponed its launch until the end of November. As stated in the iPhone 5 keynote, a new version of the application was necessary due to the advancements that iOS 6 would bring to the market. Among the improvements in iTunes 11 compared to its predecessors are: a new graphical interface, greater ease of use, improved integration and synchronization with iCloud, as well as other new features about which virtually nothing is known.
