Untethered jailbreak 'UnthreadedJB' released for iPhone 4 CDMA on iOS 5.1
Great news for iPhone 4 owners , but be sure to read this post carefully before you get too excited. Yes, there's a new untethered jailbreak . But compatibility is limited. It only works for CDMA versions of the iPhone 4 , and the application only runs on Linux.
The tool is called UnthreadedJB , and it's developed by a group of people with the same name. To be fair, this is the first untethered jailbreak we've seen for iOS 5.1 – I believe Absinthe 2.0 was for iOS 5.1.1, but it wasn't compatible with 5.1 . And several users have confirmed that it works…
We hope that the hackers that everyone knows in the Jailbreak world will also speak out about this video, although there is testimony from some hackers who say that it is true.
Verizon and Sprint use CDMA iPhones , and to jailbreak them you need to have Linux installed … apparently, very few people will be able to use it; there are many limitations.
These guys also claim to have an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 , and even iOS 7. No new jailbreak has been released since Apple killed evasi0n with iOS 6.1.3 , and another isn't expected until after iOS 7 arrives this fall.
