Jony Ive has received a promotion at Apple

Jony Ive received a promotion just a few days ago. Years of work in Apple's design department, an area the company takes great care with, have paid off. Starting today, Jony will become Chief Design Officer and will have two long-time assistants with him.

Jony Ive has been a prominent figure at Apple for several years now. He's the face of design at the Cupertino company. And it's no wonder; he earned it by working with his team to create outstanding designs.

Jony has just been promoted from his position as senior vice president of design to CDO (precisely “ Chief Design Officer ”), which in Spanish would be read as “Director of the design office.”

Changes at Apple

According to Tim Cook himself , Apple's current CEO, the design department will undergo some changes.

The most notable changes are that Richard Howarth will now be the vice president of industrial design, and Alan Dye (former head of human interface) is now vice president of user interface design.

Will Apple no longer have those signature designs?

Jony's new position is a formality. He will continue to oversee all design aspects, but now with two assistants (the same ones introduced earlier in the article).

The idea is to get Jony away from his desk, paperwork, and the office . To involve him in travel and other activities, but while preserving all the potential that benefits the company so much.

For those who prefer a more conservative approach and don't want significant changes at Apple, there's no need to worry. These three executives have been with the company for quite some time and have already developed several designs.
