Hello iPhoneate readers! We have some news from a few days ago in which Joshua Hill, better known as iOS hacker p0sixninja, sent a secret message via his Twitter account saying he has something very big and wonderful regarding jailbreaking. He didn't say what it was, but he did mention "thinking bigger than just a jailbreak."

According to Jose Rossignol on iFans, he spoke with p0sixninja about the project, 'openjailbreak,' which will be an open-source repository managed by a team led by Hill. Surenix is reportedly working on developing the website for the project.
“Essentially, it’s going to be a repository of open-source jailbreak components that I’ve built over the past few years,” Hill says. “Much of my code has been hacked and used in other projects, so it gets very fragmented. There’s no central repository to maintain all of this code, to allow other developers to submit patches or help provide a roadmap for what new features and capabilities will be added in the future.”
Joe, in turn, commented that "this is just a small part of a larger plan." He didn't say exactly what that means, but it's been speculated that p0sixninja has a ROM that could exploit the system at a low level, which would open up a universe of possibilities for jailbreak enthusiasts like the rest of us.
Generally speaking, it sounds like there will never be a Tether jailbreak again, which personally drives me crazy and is very inconvenient to do.
