Nintendo will release only 5 games for iOS in March 2017

Last month we learned of Nintendo's intentions to finally release official games for iOS , thus eliminating the need for emulators and other methods to enjoy classic and early games that many of us still remember from our childhood and now want to play again on our iDevices. What does Nintendo have to say now?

What the Japanese company is now announcing again is that the games will arrive, but in the first round they will only release 5 of them next March 2017. Basically, we're talking about another year of waiting to see the first Nintendo games, but these aren't the original games we know like Mario Kart or Zelda , but rather new games where Mario and his friends will possibly appear.

During its fiscal year presentation, Nintendo did not mention any further details about the game releases and only commented on their arrival in March.

Will there be more for the rest of the year?

That could depend on the success of the first test package the company will release. Keep in mind that mobile platforms haven't been a priority for Nintendo so far , and releasing many games would risk damaging their reputation in the event of a failure, so it's not just about sales in stores like the App Store.

The company's decision to port or migrate existing games to mobile devices is that they would lose their gameplay style on smartphones , so they are looking to create new games and applications exclusive to iPhones and iPads , for example.

These games may be under the freemium model , so for now the franchise is preparing to release 5 new games, the names of which it has not yet revealed, but which will be the beginning of its arrival on mobile devices.
