Hello iPhoniacs, the folks at Chronic Dev have published some good news about this software for the iPod 3g.

• There will be no extra time required to send the boot RAM disk since everything will be done in iBoot.
• No IPSW will be needed; the firmware files are read directly from the flash memory, then decoded and patched on the fly, and then reflashed.
• The exploit can be ported to other firmwares by modifying a few lines.
• The jailbreak takes less than 1 minute from when it boots up until it starts in recovery mode.
• There will be a detailed progress report, such as “patching iBoot” or “reflashing DeviceTree”, on the device screen.
• DFU not required

We'll be keeping an eye on whether it can be jailbroken on other devices, as this one is for the iPod 3G.
