Upcoming Nintendo iOS releases will be Free-to-Play
While Nintendo surprised us all with its first iOS game, Miitomo , you should prepare for the following news, as it has been confirmed by official sources that all upcoming Nintendo titles for both iOS and Android will be Free-to-Play.
Nintendo will focus on free-to-play games for future releases on iOS devices.
DeNA CEO Isao Moriyasu , a Nintendo partner , confirmed all of this directly to the public at the conference held last Wednesday, and assured that the entire upcoming line of games will be free-to-play ; that is, they will be completely free to play, although of course it is always possible to find an in-game store to purchase power-ups or some special items.

The total number of games that Nintendo will release in 2016 and 2017 is uncertain, although five titles are already confirmed for March of that latter year. However, these will not be Super Mario Bros., Zelda, or Mario Kart , as Satoru Iwata stated in previous news reports that fans will have to wait a few years for those games.

This new announcement goes hand in hand with the current model of free games, since many developers feel more comfortable making games of this type , to avoid piracy problems, and which also prevent users from looking for alternatives to avoid payment methods.
Purchases should be completely optional in these new Nintendo releases for iOS.
Well, we'll have to wait a while for this new line of Nintendo games for iOS , and see if the payment methods and purchases within these apps are fully optional, and not necessary to use the fantastic releases that Nintendo is surely preparing for the coming years.

Although Miitomo , Nintendo's first mobile game , was unveiled last month, it will still be some time before it arrives on Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store. One thing we can be sure of is that this won't be the biggest franchise we expect to see from Nintendo, and even less so from DeNA.
