Today, one of the most significant features of these devices has been the integration of their innovative voice commands. While for many, these haven't proven entirely useful, for many others, they have greatly simplified interaction with their iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

And today's news is sure to surprise more than a few people. It was revealed that a user successfully called 911 using the iPhone's voice command system, Siri.

The news report reveals that an 18-year -old from Murfreesboro, Tennessee (USA) was working under his truck when it fell on him, trapping his arms and leaving him unable to move.

The accident led him to call for help, shouting for assistance; but no one heard him to come to his aid. It was then that the teenager heard Siri activate from his iPhone , which was in his back pocket.

That's why, through a great effort, the young man managed to activate Siri and make an SOS call to 911. It is said that medical services arrived immediately at the scene and were able to save the young man's life in time.

And although the great help must be attributed to the medical team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center , the young man emphasized that if it hadn't been for his smartphone's personal assistant, in this case Apple's Siri , he wouldn't be alive to tell the tale.

That is why today, more than ever, Apple's Siri has managed to take center stage in the United States; a news story that highlights its essence, effectiveness, and great help to its thousands of users.
