Fixing error 1013 when restoring with IOS 4.3.3 (after using JailBreakMe)

Hello iPhoneate friends, I'm going to share a tutorial with you, as it seems there are problems restoring iPads to iOS 4.3.3 for any reason. Well, this is a solution to prevent iTunes from throwing error 1013 when trying to install version 4.3.3. This error occurs because the HOSTS file on your PC/Mac has been modified, and Apple has added new security to the baseband that triggers error 1013. Following the instructions below will resolve the problem. I can say this because it happened to me personally, and I solved it this way…

I've tested it with the iPad 2; it will work with all iDevices that have been jailbroken.

We open TinyUmbrella and go to the “Advanced” tab

  • 2. We deactivate the “Set Host to Cydia on…” tab.
  • 3. Click on Apply Changes, and close TinyUmbrella

Next, we will reinstall iOS 4.3.3 in iTunes, and everything should go well. If, by chance, error 1013 occurs again, restart your PC and try again.
