LG Display has signed an agreement with Apple to supply LCD and OLED panels for its next generation of iPhones, Newspim reported via DigiTimes.

According to the contract, LG Display is expected to ship between 3 and 4 million OLED panels and 20 million LCD panels for smartphones to Apple in 2018, the report stated. It was also added that LG Display will produce the OLED panels needed for the iPhone at its E6 6G fab in Paju.

The report also states that, along with an improved yield rate at its E6 plant, LG is likely to secure the majority of Apple's 6.5-inch OLED panel orders in 2019, increasing OLED panel shipments to 10 million units for the year. Read more »
