Many modern Macs feature processors with a function called " Turbo Boost ." This feature allows a processor to temporarily run above its standard clock speed when the operating system requires it. Turbo Boost can speed up a Mac's performance, but it can also lead to increased power consumption, meaning a MacBook's battery will drain faster.
