Yes, iPhone users, Textfree has stopped working. This has been confirmed here in Mexico, and perhaps the same is happening in other countries. But don't worry, iPhone users, because there's a good alternative to continue sending free messages to any carrier. The app is called HeyWire and it's free on the App Store. So search for it, download it, and sync it.

It works the same way. When you open it, it will ask if you want to register with a new number. Click there, and you're all set. You'll register and provide your information regarding the country where you live. Unlike Textfree, which required a US postal code, HeyWire lets you register with your country and use it without any problems. And that's it, iPhone users, keep sending free messages!

Don't forget to include your country code before the cell phone number you want to send messages to, for example, for Mexico:

52 (10-digit cell phone number) = 52 (55 22992288)
