Fake Apple store found in Mexico City

by prometheus0409 / August 11, 2011 6:25 PM EDT

A few weeks ago, the existence of six fake Apple stores in China was revealed. These stores simulated a real "Mac Store" but were not; some of them offered Apple products illegally since they were not authorized distributors.

Today, the existence of a fake Mac Store in Mexico City was revealed, specifically inside Plaza Madero in the city center.

This fake Apple store located in Plaza Madero looks like a real Mac Store, complete with promotional posters for Apple products, but inside, they don't actually sell Apple products.

An Apple spokesperson in Mexico commented that this is not a real APR (Apple Premium Reseller) store, since the official stores are listed on the Apple website.

It's worth mentioning that there are only 10 official Apple stores in Mexico: 4 in Mexico City, 2 in Guadalajara, 1 in Monterrey, 1 in Puebla, 1 in Torreón, and 1 in León.
